Context
Shops loved Shopmonkey’s digital authorization feature but needed better protection against chargebacks and disputes. Partnering with our UX researcher, I interviewed five shops and found they were printing estimates for in-person signatures—a process ripe for streamlining. This insight led us to develop an electronic signature feature. Given that most end-users accessed estimates and invoices on mobile, we prioritized a mobile-first design. After a few rounds of usability testing, we shipped the MVP that was met with positive reception and we continued to iterate and improve upon it.
